Yongye sells the vast majority of its Shengmingsu crop nutrient product through provincial and regional distributors who then sell the products on to primarily county level distributors. The county level distributors sell the products primarily through independently owned and Yongye branded retail stores. As of June 30, 2012, there are 32,015 independently-owned branded retailers covering almost all provinces of the People's Republic of China.
Yongye’s branded retailer network is developed on the basis of a "community-direct" footprint in Chinese rural villages. We work with our distributors to identify and recruit existing agriculture stores to join our independently owned and Yongye branded retail store network. In addition to selling Yongye Shengmingsu, those retail stores typically also sell seeds, chemical fertilizers, pesticides and other agriculture input products.
Our branded retail model is replicated by our distributor network, retailer by retailer, according to our national standard. After joining our network, such retailers are supplied with resources such as educational and promotional material which help farmers understand the benefits of using Yongye products. They receive marketing support in the local community through advertising on local TV stations and in local print media, in addition to benefiting from our national branding campaigns. Yongye and its distributors also provide various training programs to branded retailer owners who in turn help farmers in rural villages learn more about Shengmingsu and other farming information that is beneficial to Chinese farmers.
